Each part of your face is like a mini window into your organs.
  • Face and cheeks - indicate the condition of your Heart

  • Forehead and scalp - are associated with thoughts, and the mind

  • Eyes - reflect the condition of your Liver

  • Nose - is linked to the Lungs

  • Ears - are connected to the Kidneys

  • Mouth - indicates the condition of the Spleen

What we want to do is get the energy circulating around these organs.

This mini Qi exercise is best done in the morning so you can get the circulation moving and start the day refreshed.

Repeat this motion between each step.

Place your palms together and rub them for a few seconds. You want to really warm them up. Heat is the key here.

  1. Rub your hands all over your face, this will harmonise your heart. Repeat the palm rub.

  2. Massage your forehead with your left hand, then your right. This is intended to awaken the mind, and dispel negative thoughts. Repeat the palm rub.

  3. Place your palms over your eyes and gently massage with your eyes closed. This helps initiate the Liver. Repeat the palm rub.

  4. Using your thumbs, particularly the area at the base of the thumb, massage the bridge and tip of the nose to free your breathing and nourish your lungs. Repeat the palm rub.

  5. Using your hands and fingers, massage the ears to stimulate hearing and nourish the kidneys. Repeat the palm rub.

  6. With both hands, massage the base of your skull (occiput) to circulate energy between the head and the spine. Repeat the palm rub.

  7. Rest each thumb on your jaw briefly. Then place your left hand on your upper lip and your right on your lower lip, rubbing each lip from left to right. Count nine strokes, then switch hands. This helps nourish the spleen. Repeat the palm rub.

  8. Turn your head to the right, placing your right hand flat on your left shoulder. Rub the shoulder, then move your hand down toward the chest. Switch hands (left hand on right shoulder) and repeat. The purpose of this is to bring calm, relieve stress, and circulate energy through the upper body.

  9. Using the fingertips of your right hand, tap the inside of your left collarbone (near the "entrance to the lungs")to activate the Lung Meridianenergy. With your left hand, tap the right ribs to activate the Liver Meridian. After a few moments, switchsides. Then repeat this motion on each side, rubbing to activate and distribute energy between the upper and lower body. Conclude by rubbing your hands together.

  10. Place your hands flat, oneon top of the other, palms facing your lower Dan Tian. At PointPC8(where the hands overlap), vital energy gathers. Rub your hands together again.

  11. Close your fists and place them on your kidneys, rubbing vigorously to awaken the life energy. To stimulate the Jing, massage the genital areawith one hand, then the other.Follow the meridian path by massaging along the upper limbs, moving from the wrist to the shoulder on the outside of the arm and from the shoulder back to the wrist on the inside. Repeat these back-and-forth motions on both arms, gradually increasing the massage speed.Rub your hands together before massaging the lower limbssimilarly(from the sole of the foot up towardthe pelvis),following the meridian lineson each side. This type of meridian massage typically boosts energy levels and is best avoided at the end of the day or before bedtime. To conclude, place eachthumb on Point PC8 and close your fists. Focus onthe energy at this point and throughout your body, remaining still and calm, free of action or thoughtLastly, rub your hands together one last time.
